A building complex with seven residential units for long-term stays is being constructed at the Halle/Leipzig Airport. The design is aimed at project managers who want to live at their temporary workplace and hold compact work sessions "at the kitchen table" with their core team. The L-shaped, single-story apartment is inspired by an airplane hangar: the interior is clean and robust, with stainless steel and ultramarine forming a powerful visual alliance.
The workspace in the north features a generous table and a minimalist stainless steel kitchen, opening up the apartment to visitors. Two identical end walls, clad with steel mesh, serve as presentation surfaces and lead to ultramarine corridors, clearly separating work and private areas. A subtle step and ultramarine corridor on one side lead to the private area, while the other side's parallel color emphasis creates an illusion of continuation.
This apartment offers an efficient workspace at its core and a private retreat simultaneously.
